Your guide to the practical stuff

Got doubts? Here's everything you need to know before you send your request.

What's included in a LOBA trip?

We design every trip so you only have to focus on one thing: enjoying the ride. Exactly what's included depends on the package you choose, but a trip typically covers:

  • Comfortable, social accommodation with everything you need to feel at home
  • Surf sessions for every level, focused on progress and fun
  • Local guides who truly know the coast and the day's best spots
  • Shared meals, sunsets and post-surf hangs — the group energy that makes it feel like a community
  • Plenty of free time to explore the West Coast beyond the surf

Some extras and activities vary with the week and the ocean, but the goal is always the same: an authentic taste of the West Coast lifestyle.

Where will I stay?

There's no single fixed camp — and that's the point. We work with trusted accommodation partners across Portugal's coast, so we can match your stay to your group, your preferences and your budget.

From social surf houses to more private or premium options, we line up the right fit for your trip. Tell us what you're after and we'll handle the rest.

How do I request a trip?

It's simple. Pick the package you want and send us a request through the form with your group size, your dates and what you're after. We'll get back to you on WhatsApp to answer any questions and confirm the details.

Once you're ready, we'll send the payment information. We accept:

  • Bank transfer (national & international)
  • Revolut
  • PayPal

After payment you'll receive a confirmation with all the details, plus a Welcome Guide with everything you need for an amazing week at LOBA.

Do I need to be a certain level to come?

Not at all. We host complete beginners who've never touched a board right through to confident surfers looking to sharpen up. Lessons and guidance are tailored to you — and because every trip is built around your group, mixed-level groups are completely welcome.

Can I come solo, or as a group?

Both. Plenty of guests come on their own — the crew is super social, so even if you arrive solo you won't feel solo for long. And if you're a group of friends, a company, a surf club or a student association, we'll build the whole trip around you.

What's the vibe like?

At LOBA it's surf + good vibes, that's the whole thing. You'll come to level up your surfing (with yoga, surfskate and training mixed in), but you're also here for a week that just feels easy. Expect:

  • Proper surf sessions, but always relaxed — no pressure, just progress
  • A super social crew (come solo, leave with friends)
  • Sunsets, chill time and nature to reset between sessions
  • Workshops, activities and a few party nights when the vibe is right

And the best part? We handle the plan, the logistics and the little details — you just show up and enjoy the week.

What should I bring?

Keep it simple — just your personal stuff. Recommended:

  • Comfortable clothes + a light jacket/hoodie for the evenings
  • Swimwear and a beach towel
  • Sunscreen (trust us)
  • Toiletries and any meds you need
  • Good vibes

Everything else is covered: accommodation essentials and all the equipment for the activities (surf gear included) is provided by us — no need to travel with a board.

How do I get here from Lisbon?

We're on Portugal's West Coast, just over an hour from Lisbon — one of the easiest surf coasts in Europe to reach. First, book your flight to Lisbon Airport (LIS) for your trip dates (we can send flight suggestions if you'd like). From there:

  • By bus (most common): from Oriente or Sete Rios station to Peniche — FlixBus (~1h10) or Rede Expressos (~1h30). We pick you up at the bus station and take you to the camp.
  • Private transfer: want the easy mode? We can arrange a transfer from Lisbon Airport or the city on request (extra cost).
